You can:

a) ping the PTSW directly after you've published / updated a DOAP profile

b) add DOAP autodiscovery link to HTML pages describing the project
and web users who are visiting your pages will ping PTSW automatically
upon encountering autodiscovery links - provided they have installed
SemRadar [1] Firefox extension and its ping feature is enabled.

If you have the extension installed then b) does pinging for you and
you will not need to ping manually.

DOAP autodiscovery links look like this:
<link rel="meta" type="application/rdf+xml" title="DOAP" href="[url]" />

P.S. Doing this adds your application's DOAP profile to
PingTheSemanticWeb service where it is available for all applications
that need and use RDF data. doapstore.org is one of such applications.
There may be a slight delay between adding profile to PTSW and it
appearing in doapstore, but Alexandre is the one who can tell this for
sure.
