That's a good point, yet another can of worms. :)

I agree, but at the same time would prefer leaving it up to the author, 
instead of trying to describe an approach that will cover all cases. The 
point being that since it's just a string, each person will likely know which 
way is preferred (for that person).

This may not be enough, but I don't know how it should be documented?
