[gnome-bluetooth] Installation problem?

do i type this line on the command prompt? or do i store it in some 
configuration file...
coz i tried to store this line in /etc/profile... nothing happened...
i.e. PKG_CONFIG_PATH="usr/local/lib/pkgconfig"
