Hi Ed,
Following is what I got:
$ ./gnome-bluetooth-control
dev_id is 0
Got 1 responses.
xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx clock offset: 0x7aab class: 0x500204
** Message: Already know about xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, preparing for rediscovery
Failed to connect to SDP server on xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
Curiously, same output as when I run 'gconftest'.
Running 'manager-testclient', the output is this:
** Message: Found device addr xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx name Ricky N-Gage class 500204
** Message: Asking separately about its name
** Message: Info on device addr xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx name Ricky N-Gage class 500204
** Message: testing unknown device exception

Hope the above info gives you more clues as to what's happening. Just let me know if you needed any other info.
Thanks again!
BTW, I just got most of KDE-bluetooth (obex-send/obex-server/bemused) components working on the same machine, so I'm really very keen on getting Gnome-bluetooth to work as well.
Regards,
Ricky
