[gnome-bluetooth] User friendly way to choose a device for use with gnome-phone-manager

I would like to write code for the enhancement bug for
gnome-phone-manager "Use HAL for auto detection and setup of device"
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=332981 but I don't know how
to handle in the user interface the case when a device that was chosen
earlier now is no more available (eg. USB cable disconnected).

Should the user see the old choice and which widget(s) to use?
