Rasqal RDF Query Library 0.9.14
Rasqal is a free software / Open Source C library that provides
querying of Resource Description Framework (RDF) including multiple
query languages syntaxes, query construction by API and execution of
queries returning results as bindings, boolean or RDF graphs/triples.
It supports the SPARQL and RDQL query languages. Rasqal is designed
to work closely with the Redland RDF library and the Raptor RDF
parsing and serializing library but is entirely separate from both.
Rasqal is beta quality: working but the API is being modified and
extended. It is a portable library and has been tested on multiple
POSIX systems and architectures. Rasqal has no known memory leaks.
The main changes in this version since the last release 2006-10-30 are:
* Added syntax and API support (but no query engine support) for an
experimental extension to SPARQL:
LAQRS: LAQRS Adds to Querying RDF in SPARQL
This is mainly for Steve Harris - hello Steve, if you are reading this.
* Updated the query results formatter to allow better introspection of
* Updated SPARQL parser for SPARQL Working Draft 2007-03-26 additions.
* Fixed issues: 0000152, 0000156, 0000160, 0000167 and 0000182
For full details see the Rasqal 0.9.14 release notes at
Rasqal 0.9.14 requires Raptor 1.4.11 or newer (1.4.15 recommended)
to provide RDF, web, XML and URI support. Rasqal can use either
Raptor or Redland 1.0.5 or newer to provide a source of triples.
An optional requirement is a POSIX regular expression library such as
PCRE or one built into the C library to handle regex matching.
Rasqal 0.9.14 and future versions have no testing on anything but
Linux and OSX since SourceForge.net abandoned providing a compile farm.
Binary RPM packages for Fedora Core 6 are also available however,
since Rasqal is in Fedora Extras, this may be the last time these are
made. Binary deb packages for Debian unstable will be made available
shortly via the standard debian archive and download.librdf.org.
Sources and binaries are also available from the Redland
SourceForge mirror site at http://sourceforge.net/projects/librdf/
The http://librdf.org/ site lets you browse and check out the latest
version of the sources in Subversion and try out Rasqal (as part of
Redland) in a web demonstration at http://librdf.org/query
