I presume you've got bluez-utils and bluez-sdp installed and working.

It won't, it just sits there waiting for OBEX connections.

Make your phone (or whatever) discoverable, run gnome-admin-tool, hit
scan, see if you can see your remote device.

If you can, you're in business.
