Please keep the list CC'd, I don't have the ability to provide personal
support, and also it helps others reading the archives to keep the
knowledge on it.

I think Richard Torkar is the expert on Gentoo here.  I don't know
anything about it.  Basically, it should be compiling with the -g option
and not being stripped before installed in order to get the extra debug
information.
