yup.. so then i downloaded the intltool binary package, this required
perl-XML-parser package, which finally required perl(LWP) i.e.
either.. perl-5.8.8-10.i386.rpm / perl-libwww-perl package..
but now i have all the stuff compiled (used autoreconf) and have an
executable in /usr/bin/gnome-phone-manager
