I proposed the use of a *property* instead of (or in addition to) a
PersonalProfileDocument *class* when this stuff was discussed on
rdfweb-dev [1].
didn't have much success, but maybe the approach could help you w.r.t
the required xml-friendliness. it'd be a simple

<doap:Project>
   <doap:ppd rdf:resource="http://www.example.com/doap.rdf"/>
</doap:Project>

a doap:ppd (or doap:profile) would be inverseFunctional.
